The situation in Sudan's South Kordofan region remains ‘unpredictable' as heavy bombardments continue in and around the main towns of Kadugli and Delami according to the United Nations's Humanitarian Agency (OCHA).
More than 2,000 people have been reportedly displaced from Delami, a town 100 kilometers north-east of Kadugli.
Assessments are ongoing to determine their needs, according to Elisabeth Byrs, OCHA spokesperson.
"A preliminary assessment in Kadugli town shows that the most urgent needs are for food, water, shelter, and medical services for the displaced. Humanitarian workers also report that key roads and bridges that were heavily damaged need repair and mine clearing activities are urgently needed."
Byrs adds that humanitarian agencies still do not have full access to the region although they have established a presence in Kadugli town.
