The Government of Sudan and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) must be commended for having largely succeeded in implementing the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in Sudan, Haile Menkerios, said on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference in Khartoum, Menkerios added that both parties must also be commended for the progress they have made in establishing the foundations for long term peace and stability between north and south Sudan.
He also urged the two parties to the CPA to resolve the pending issues of Abyei, Blue Nile and South Kordofan states, and the north-south border though dialogue.
