Big Quantities of Phosphate Discovered in Red Sea, South Kordofan and Northern States

The Minister of Mining, Dr. Abdul-Bagi Al-Jailani, has announce the existence of big quantities of phosphate in the Red Sea, South Kordofan and the Northern States, in addition to quantities of potassium in northern Khartoum, estimated at 90 million tons.

At a press conference he held Sunday at the ministry, Dr. Al-Jailani said that agreement new agreements and memos of understanding were signed with South Africa, Ethiopia and Tanzania for utilization of gems.

He said that the Ministry of Mining is imposing control on the companies operating in the field of mining.

Dr. Al-Jailani pointed to the discovery of big quantities of gold in Darfur states, adding that his ministry has opened geological offices in Darfur states and supplied them with cadres The minister shed light on the plans and programs of the Ministry of Mining in the coming stage.
