SAF Launches Air Strikes In Bentiu

The minister for information in Unity state said that the Sudan Armed Forces on Thursday launched air strikes in, Pariang county in the state.

Gideon Gatpan Thoar condemned the attacks by SAF adding that it’s a violation of the CPA.

[Gideon Gatpan Thoar]”Sudan army forces are now declaring themselves to fight the South. This is a serious violation of the comprehensive peace agreement because we are still been burn by the comprehensive peace agreement, so we see like the international community need also to advice Khartoum on their serious violation of the agreement ahead of the celebration of independence of Southern Sudan on July 9th”

The airstrike comes in the wake of fighting between the SAF and the SPLA in South Kordofan since last week.
Efforts to reach the SAF spokesperson for a comment were unsuccessful.
