UNHQ military advisor visits Abyei, S Kordofan and Blue Nile

The Military Advisor to the United Nations Headquarters, Lieutenant General Babacar Gaye, has visited Abyei, and  Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile states last week for an assessment of the security situation in the region.

A statement issued by the United Nations Mission in Sudan on Monday said Gen Gaye appreciated the efforts of the peacekeepers and added that protection of civilians was a most important duty that had to be discharged with utmost dedication.
