Machar reiterates commitment to peaceful resolution of disputed issues

The Vice President of the Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS), Riek Machar, reiterated his government's commitment to the peaceful resolution of all disputed issues, including Abyei. Speaking to the press in Khartoum on Monday, Machar said that in a meeting meeting with Sudan's President, Omer Al-Bashir, and federal Vice President, Ali Osman Taha, they tackled the developing situation in Abyei, and the future of Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile states. 

 The meeting also discussed border issues and resumption of talks on other outstanding matters.
