Haroun sworn in governor of South Kordofan State

Ahmed Haroun on Monday took oath before the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir as a new Wali (governor) of South Kordofan State.

In press statement following the swearing-in attended by the Chief Justice and the Minister of the Presidency of the Republic.

The new wali has pledged to abide the electoral programme " I will be a governor for all the people whether they have voted for our programme or not. We are responsible for all the citizens", he said.

The governor has stressed keenness to sustain peace and stability in the state and go ahead with development and reconstruction through broad government drawing all the political forces in the region
