Carter Center: S Kordofan election peaceful and credible

The Carter Center has said that the Southern Kordofan state's gubernatorial and Legislative Assembly elections were peaceful and credible, despite a climate of heightened insecurity and instances of procedural irregularities. It said in a statement on Thursday that challenges and complaints about the process should be pursued through the formal legal channels prescribed by law.

The statement added that Carter Centre did not observe systemic irregularities that would invalidate the results.
