The National Elections Commission has said that it will announce the results of the South Kordofan gubernatorial and Legislative Assembly elections on Sunday from Khartoum, after the announcement was postponed following dispute between the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) and National Congress Party (NCP) over the results.
Meanwhile, the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) spokesperson Col Swarmi Khalid Saad told Radio Miraya that SAF will not allow any armed activity in the state, accusing the SPLM of making inflammatory statements.
In turn, SPLM Deputy Secretary General for Northern Sector, Yasir Arman, said that his party will address any issues using civil and peaceful means only. Arman called upon the international community for immediate help to contain the situation in the state.
