UN pledges to support Elections in South Kordofan State

The special envoy for the UN Secretary General for Sudan, Haile Menkerios, held a press conference Sunday noon in Kadugli and reviewed the role of the UN concerning the complementary elections in South Kordofan.

The meeting came in the framework of the International organizations 'participation and follow up of the complementary elections in South Kordofan state Menkerios pointed out that he met with two sides in the state and reviewed the security and technical arrangements for holding the elections and the role that the UN play to make a success the complementary elections in the state,

He said that the two sides affirmed their commitment to provide appropriate atmosphere for conducting and protecting the elections and accepting the result He assured the UN readiness to present logistic and technical support to guarantee success of the complementary elections in South Kordofan State.
