Carter Center call on GoSS to release Telefone Kuku

The Carter Center has called on the Government of Southern Sudan to release Telefone Kuku, an independent candidate in Southern Kordofan state's gubernatorial election, to let him campaign, or announce formal charges that justify his detention. In a statement released on Thursday, the Center also expressed concern over the security situation in Southern Kordofan and tensions in some areas of the state between rival candidates for the upcoming elections.
