NEC: Elections in Southern Kordofan state on schedule

The National Elections Commission (NEC) said that recent violence in Southern Kordofan will not have an effect on the timetable for the upcoming legislative and executive elections in the state. The Deputy chairperson of the commission, Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah, told Radio Miraya on Friday that the Electoral body is not involved in the ongoing accusations between the National Congress Party and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement.

Abdullah added that the final timetable for the election process will be announced on Monday.
