South Kordofan Election Commission discovers errors in voter registration

The Deputy Head of the Southern Kordofan State High Election Committee, Abdel Jabar Ibrahim, has said that some mistakes occurred during the voter's registration process in the State. Speaking to Radio Miraya, Ibrahim said the committee has discovered that an unauthorized body was registering voters in one of the constituencies.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of the National Election Commission, Abdallah Ahmed Abdallah, said all political parties have the opportunity to appeal. Speaking to Radio Miraya, Abdallah affirmed that the commission has received a memo of protest on rigging from the alliance of opposition parties on Sunday.

Earlier, some opposition forces conducted a peaceful demonstration and handed over a protest memorandum to the National Election Commission in Khartoum and Southern Kordofan State.

Meanwhile, the Head of the High Committee for Supporting the Popular Consultation in Southern Kordofan State, Ramadan Ibrahim Shumaila, said that the election commission should resolve what he described as fraud in voters registration lists in some areas of the state.
