Joint Security Committee Signs an agreement on Redeployment of Forces on Demarcation line between Rezeigat and Messeriyah to Prevent Disputes

The joint security committee of Southern and Northern Kordofan States, chaired by the Governors of the two states signed in Mujlad Thursday an agreement on, the redeployment of forces on the demarcation line separating Rezeigat and Messeriya tribes in the aftermath of the incidents took place in the area recently.

The committee focused on the implementation of the decisions of the previous meeting with regard to moving the groups of the two tribes from the area of the incidents.

The Governor of Southern Darfur State said the meeting affirmed the basic points that could maintain the security on the borders of the two states to prevent disputes between the two groups, pointing out that the meeting called for the reactivation of the role of the civil administration to solve these Problems.

He described the situation as stable following the withdrawal of the two sides to their borders.

Meanwhile, Governor of Southern Kordofan State, Ahmed Haroun has described the situation in the area as stable adding that the governments of the two states are closely monitoring the situation in the area.
