DDR Announces to Start South Kordofan &Blue Nile Registration by Mid February

DDR for northern sector announces it would start registering demobilized forces from Blue Nile and south Kordofan state most likely by the 3rd week of the current month.
DDR commissioner Sulaf Al Dein Salih said his commission plans for sending joint delegation to Arab, Islamic countries and China early March to campaigning for funds from the respective countries to implement DDR program before rainy season.
The commissioner complains they have received only 39 m Sudanese pounds from an actual required budget of 340m. He said shortage of fund threaten peace process in the country particularly in Kordofan and Darfur areas.
He said there is sharp campaigning in these two respective areas by some parties promising of high military racks with high financial payment to stop DDR program. He said it is significant that DDR get enough funds to meet the requirement of demobilized forces and stop anti DDR activities.
(smc) learnt that DDR program for 2009 plans to integrate 29.000 of demobilized forces in northern Sector.
