NCP in south Kordofan calls for dialogue

06 January 2009 (Miraya FM)

A leading member in the National Congress Party in south Kordofan, Ali Koko, urged the SPLM in the state to resort to dialogue in resolving the disagreements between the two partners.

Ali Koko stated that the threats by the SPLM leader in the state of dissolving the partnership with the NCP, is a step towards illegal approaches, pointing out that there are efforts of some leaders in the two parties to contain the conflict.

The SPLM had threatened earlier to dissolve the partnership with NCP and to withdraw from the government of National Unity if the former minister of finance that was dismissed by the governor, does not resume work.

The Chairman of the Assessment and Evaluation commission in South Kordofan, Nyron Philip, urged the partners to exhaust their efforts to implement the remainder of Protocol of Conflict Resolution in south Kordofan and Blue Nile, completing the steps to National Reconciliation, in order to prevent security outlets.

Nyron Philip declared in a press statement that the two evaluation commissions in the Blue Nile and south Kordofan started a joint workshop at the end of this month, regarding the citizen's consultations in the two states.
