Sudanese Minister of Interior Ibrahim Mohammed Hamid stated in an address before the Council of States that two rebel groups from South Kordofan State were behind the kidnapping of the Chinese oil workers abducted in last month in that state.

A member of the group -- an ex-leader of Shahama [a movement that integrated its forces into the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM)] -- just returned from Israel. The other group leader is from a JEM faction led by Fidail.
