2 October 2008 (Miraya FM)
Deputy Governor of South Kordofan State, the State Head of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement, Major General Daniel Kodi, criticized the State Governor's decree sacking the State's Minister of Finance. Major General Kodi told Miraya FM that the Minister's dismissal was not referred to the SPLM.
He further added that he will send a delegation to Juba to explain the circumstances of the decision to the Chairman of the SPLM.
Kodi said he is now working to calm the situation in Southern Kordofan.
The Governor of South Kordofan, Omer Suleiman, had previously stated that the dismissal of the Finance Minister was in effect by a Presidential decree form the First Vice President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
