All SAF and SPLA forces withdrawn from Abyei

The last units of SAF and SPLA withdrew yesterday from Abyei and were replaced by a JIU battalion.

A function was held to mark the withdrawal of the two armies attended by representatives from SAF, SPLA and UN.

Speakers emphasized the need for security and peace in the area to help facilitate the return of IDPs.
