Presidency postpones today’s meeting

The Presidency postpones its today’s meeting which was expected to discuss the Abyei issue. The First Vice President of the Republic and President of the government of southern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit say that he is not participating in the Presidency meeting.
Speaking to Miraya FM, the Minister of the Cabinet Affairs in the government of southern Sudan, Dr. Luka Biong, said that Salva Kiir decided not to participate in the meeting due to differences he had after his return from Cairo and Asmara.
The Presidency was supposed to discuss the recent clashes between the Messiryia and the Dinka Ngok tribes in Abyei.
A member in the Crisis Committee to help resolve the joint border areas Ahmed Haroun said that the National Congress Party is committed in implementing the Abyei Protocol and to calm the situation in the region.
