15 October 2007 (Miraya FM)

The delegation of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) has postponed its return to south Sudan for an expected meeting with president Omer Al Bashir later today.

The delegation which is headed by Dr. Riek Machar, the Vice chairman of the SPLM had yesterday handed a message from Vice President Salva Kiir to General Bakri Hassan Saleh the minister of presidential affairs who was delegated by President Al Bashir.

Speaking to Miraya FM, the spokesman of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) northern sector, Deng Goj, said that the refusal of President Bashir to meet the SPLM delegation proves that the National Congress Party does want to comply with the movement’s demands.

Speaking to Miraya FM the editor-in-chief of Al-Ahdath Newspaper, Adil Al-Bas, said that the refusal of President Al-Bashir to meet Dr. Riek Machar is not an escalation of the crisis of the government of national unity.
