South Sudan
September 23, 2011 (Miraya FM)
Heavy fighting between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) in Khor Al Dulib and the Sudan People's Liberation Army-North (SPLM-N) broke out again in Sudan's South Kordofan State, on Thursday.
SPLM-North in Sudan's main oil state South Kordofan said its fighters drove out the army from the Khuwar Dalib area near the border to South Sudan.
An SPLM-North spokesperson was quoted saying 30 government soldiers and two rebels had been killed.
But the Rashad commissioner, Khalid Mukhtar told news reporters that the SPLA-north forces have suffered heavy losses.
Fighting broke out in June in South Kordofan and spread to the Blue Nile State in September, forcing thousands of people to flee the area.
