The National Interim Legislature comprising the National Assembly and the Council of States has endorsed the Popular Consultation bills for the Blue Nile and Southern Kordofan areas. Meanwhile, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ibrahim Al Tahir, announced that the assembly will be on a three months recess. However, he said that the legislators may be called for an emergency session if needed.

Meanwhile, Southern Sudan political parties welcomed the ratification of the Southern Sudan and Abyei Referendum, as well as the Public Consultation bills. The Head of the South Sudan Democratic Forum, Martin Elia Lomoro, told Miraya FM that his party will advocate for the separation of Southern Sudan, after the failure in making unity attractive.
