SPLM Member Talafon Koku Requested Security Guarantees to visit Juba

Leaders from Nuba Mountains affirmed that SPLM prominent member Talafon Koku requested security guarantees from the government of southern Sudan in order to visit Juba in response to an invitation extended to him by FVP Salva Kir three months ago.

Nuba mountains leaders acknowledge that Koku fears to face physical liquidation in the south on background he adopts a line countering to SPLM policy.

It noted that Koku accuses SPLM that it ignores Nuba mountains area despite the fact Nuba sons fought side by side with SPLM during civil war in the south.

Koku according to Nuba leaders also requested security guarantees from UN so he could travel to Juba. Leaders stated that SPLM faces problems in Nuba Mountains.

They cited that SPLM leadership fired the chief of the movement in south Kordofan Danial Kodi and failed to recruit his successor.

They argued that is seems SPLM wants to review its situation from Nuba mountains historical leaders so they invited Koku to the south.
