President Al-Bashir concludes visit to South Kordofan State

March 4 (SUNA)

President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir concluded Sunday a two-day inspection visit to the western area of South Kordofan State during which he addressed mass rallies at Ommarahi, Al-Foula, Lagawa, Babanusa, Mujlad and Kailek areas and inaugurated a number of service projects in the fields of education, health and water.

President Al-Bashir also held a meeting with the government of South Kordofan State in the presence of a number of federal ministers, where Wali (governor) of South Kordofan State Maj. Gen. Khamis Galab reviewed performance report of his government.

President Al-Bashir also addressed meetings with the political forces in the area, where he affirmed concern with development in the area, pointing out that a sum of 20 billion dinars has been allocated for West Kordofan Development Corporation.

The President also announced setting up of the Peace University in west Kordofan as well as construction of an electricity power station at Al-Foula with a capacity of 500 megawatts.
